The Baleares is a collective name for the islands that are located east of the mainland in the
Mediterranean. It is an autonomic region (comunidad) with the name Province of "the Isles Baleares".
The most wellknown islands are (in order of size): Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera.
There are two small isles more, named Cabrera and Dragonera.

These isles are famous for their fantastic climate, beautiful nature, gorgeous beaches and bays. Unfortunately most of them are only attainable by boat. And one will find a great choice of (specialized) restaurants, bars and disco´s.
Palma de Mallorca is the most important city of Mallorca and also the capitol of this province (comunidad).

Mallorca offers its visitors various possibilities from a "lazy beach-holiday" to activities like hiking,
all kinds of watersports, trips to interesting places and day-markets.
A visit to Alcudia is certainly worthwile. Some people deem this to be the most beautiful place on
this island, created by human hands.
Ibiza is characterized by a wild and extravagant nightlife.
Menorca is the most quiet, the most peaceful and the most untouched one of the three islands.
Formentera is an idyllic paradise and on Cabrera you will find the National Park,
"Archipiélago de Cabrera".
In short, the Baleares offer a unique variety of possibilities for a very agreeable and interesting stay.
The islands are attainable by boat or by airplane.
There are regular ferry-services from Barcelona, Valencia and Denia, as well as among the
islands themselves.
