The province of Girona is the first province in Spain coming by car from Perpignan (France). Nowadays one
enters Spain via the Motorway AP 70 without any cues or trafficjams. This motorway ends all the way down
south in Gibraltar.

Girona is famous for its Costa Brava. It is a beautiful province with a rough coastline caracterized by rock-formations and "intimate" little bays with gorgeous sandbeaches. From the landside these bays are difficult to attain, but from the sea they are easily accesible. Girona is the popular spot for the rich and famous from Barcelona. They spend much of their free time in there weekend-houses.

But it is not only "nature" what Girona has to offer. In Fiqueras for instance the worldfamous and complete
"Dali Museum" is located. Of course there are plenty of golfcourses and possibilities for hiking. For those
who love boating and sailing Empuriabrava is "the place to be". With all its canals it is called Venice of Spain. Almost every house has its own jetty.
The most important seaside-resorts are (from north to south) : Rosas, L´Escala, L´Estartit, Tamariu, Calella, Palamos, Sant Antoni de Calonge, Platja d´Aro, Sant Agaro, Sant Feliu de Guixols, Tossa de Mar, Lloret de Mar
and Blanés.
