Castellón de la Plana is the most northern province of the Comunidad Valenciana. It is a relatively flat country surrounded by mountains at the west side and the Mediterranian at the east.The province is caracterized by a
huge citrus-culture along with the many factories of ceramics, specialized in tiles for floor and walls.
The capitol Castillon is a important seaport from which the above mentioned products are transported.

With respect to tourism the Costa Azahar is very famous for its (kilometers) long, flat and wide beaches for those who love relatively quiet and lazy beachholidays.
The name Azahar (Arabic) means orangeblossom and comes from the orange orchards that in the flowering-time (twice a year) spread a very agreeable aroma.

The most famous resorts are (from north to south) Vinarós, Benicarló, Peñiscola, Orpesa and Benicassim.
Near Orpesa a complete holiday- and recreationcity has been build. It claims to be the biggest of Europe and
is named Marina d´Or.
