The province of Barcelona is the middlemost coast-province of the north-east located Comunidad Catalonia,
which consists of four provinces, namely (from north to south) Lleida, Girona, Barcelona and Tarragona.
Barcelona-city is also the capitol of this Comunidad.

Thanks to the fact, that the capitol Barcelona is the industrial and tradecentre of Northern Spain, the province of Barcelona is wellknown all over the world. Apart from being a very lively city, Barcelona is very proud of its works of art like the "Sagrada Familia" (not finished yet) by the famous archtect Antoni Gaudi, the cathedral of Santa Eulalia and various famous museums.

Strolling and enjoying the good things in life is possible on the "Ramblas" in the city and along the beaches,
of which the "Playa de Barceloneta" is recommended. Another nice idea: "Biking in Barcelona".
The province of Barcelona also offers more than enough possibilities for wonderful beach-holidays.
Wellknown seaside-resorts north of the city of Barcelona at the Costa Maresme are (from north to south)
Malgrat de Mar, Pineda de Mar, Calella, Sant Pol de Mar, Canet de Mar, Arenys de Mar, Premia de Mar and Badelona. South of the big city are Castelldefels and the Costa del Garraf formed by the Garraf mountains
and the Coma-Roja mountains that go far into the sea. The most important resort on this costa is Sitges,
wellknown for its festivals.
More into the country, south of Barcelona, the region Penedès is located. Here the Penedès-wines become produced. They form the base for the famous "Cava", the Spanish counterpart of the French champaign.
